My First Day

So we're finally here. Jenn and I barely made our first flight to London because of an evacuation of the Dulles control tower...some problem with construction and a gas leak. We made our first stop in London's Heathrow Airport and had a few hours layover. We noticed an interesting marketing technique by a cigarette manufacturer:

If you've read The Tipping Point, then you know that smokers continue to smoke even though most of them know of the health risks...interesting.

We again almost missed our connecting flight to Stuttgart because the terminal information wasn't available until 30 minutes before the flight, and we were almost at the opposite end of the terminal.

We picked up our bags and went through customs without incident and met Jenn's family, who I'm staying with until Sunday. They live in Plothingen, a small suburb of Esslingen, which is about 10 minutes from Stuttgart.

This summer is gonna rock.
