Today I took a train back to Frankfurt from the Soccer Game for another week of intensive study. While waiting in the train station in Frankfurt, two different people came up to me and asked directions. One couple, from the US, approached me using one-word English; i.e. "Direction? You know? Help?" while pointing at the train map. I was so confused at first that I just stared blankly at them.
It's crazy how exactly one week ago I was struggling to get around a train station, and today I was able to give them an answer in a few seconds.
What was even better was when two German women came up to me and asked for directions, and I was able to get them on their way - all in Deutsch.
