Mainhatten

As the sun was setting I took a walk down to part of downtown Frankfurt with my camera. I went to the top of one of the buildings and got a few pics of the skyline:


With all the skyscrapers in the city, it makes sense that some people have nicknamed it "Mainhatten" after New York City.

One of the trends I've noticed, especially here in Frankfurt, is the plethora of new buildings being built. This scene is not uncommon, a single, more Bavarian-style building with modern buildings looming around:



Or a centuries-old tower, struggling to keep its dominance of the skyline:


I eventually ended up walking a path that parallels the Main River. The city has done an amazing job of having beautiful lit tree-lined walkways along the entire river:
